Relaxing Sudoku

A classic puzzle at your own pace

The rules are the same as classic Sudoku: fill each row, column, and outlined block without repeating a number.
Instead of a fixed puzzle collection, you can freely create a puzzle by choosing its grid size and difficulty.

Relaxing Sudoku does not judge entries until you choose to check your answer, so it keeps some of the feel of solving on paper. The timer is optional: there is no need to compete for time or score.

Choose how you play

• Choose a 4×4, 6×6, or 9×9 grid.
• 9×9 has five levels from Easy to Master; 4×4 and 6×6 have two beginner-friendly levels.
• Use notes for candidate numbers, continuous entry for a number, undo and redo, and the optional timer.

Create puzzles as often as you like

Automatically generated puzzles are created in this browser and checked to ensure that each one has a unique solution. The same Sudoku ID recreates the same puzzle on another device.

Create your own puzzles or check puzzles from elsewhere

Choose “Create your own Sudoku” to enter clues into a blank grid and build an original puzzle. You can also edit the current puzzle, using notes, continuous entry, undo, and redo. Unfinished puzzles are saved automatically as drafts, so you can return to them later.

The editor also works with puzzles from outside Relaxing Sudoku. Enter the original clues from a puzzle book or another source, then choose “Validate puzzle” to check whether it has one solution, multiple solutions, or no solution. It also shows an estimated difficulty and solving techniques. Once a unique solution is confirmed, you can play the puzzle here. Some puzzles may be beyond the analysis method, and the estimated difficulty may differ from the original source’s rating.

Share a puzzle using its grid code or URL without saving it on the server. You can also publish it online with a title, author name, and comment. Server storage happens only when you enable publishing, review the confirmation, and explicitly publish the work.

Play on a larger board or take your puzzle to paper

Focus mode enlarges the play area. From “Output,” you can print or save an image of either the original puzzle or the board with your current entries. Enjoy solving on paper or keep an image of your progress.

Saving and privacy

Generated puzzles, grid codes, drafts, progress, notes, history, and clear counts are handled in this browser. Only allowing online publishing and explicitly publishing a work sends its puzzle, title, author, comment, and analysis to the server. Opening a published work ID retrieves that work from the server.

Browser data deletion also removes these records, so keep the Sudoku ID or share URL for any puzzle you want to revisit.
